Rotterdam, 23 February 2023

There are several reasons why methanol is interesting for FinCo and the markets we serve. First off: methanol is a liquid. This means that it fits perfectly into our existing logistics system. Secondly, you can make methanol from almost any residue stream you can think of, so the feedstocks are always available. In addition, methanol’s production process is relatively simple and requires relatively little energy. And because you make it from sustainable feedstocks, the product has a very low carbon footprint, with savings up to 80 to high in the 90s percent. So when we’re talking about methanol, we’re always talking about bio-methanol.

An era of possibilities

Rotterdam, 21 July 2022

A pioneering role with HVO

Rotterdam, 1 September 2022

To reduce CO2 emissions worldwide we are accelerating the use of sustainable energy carriers and phasing out fossil fuels. One the of the greatest fuels we use to reduce CO2 is HVO, a synthetic diesel, which is produced from the residue streams of the food industry or industrial processes. It is also a very sustainable fuel: it reduces CO2 emissions up to 89 percent and ensures clean combustion, both on land and water.

Bio-markets that don't yet exist

Rotterdam, 22 September 2022

The energy system of the future consists of all kinds of innovative solutions. These innovations differ per market segment and mode; road traffic requires different solutions than shipping and air transport. We therefore look at new sustainable feedstocks, as well as ground breaking conversion technologies to convert these feedstocks into various suitable energy carriers. That is why we are not only looking at liquid fuels, but also at hydrogen and electricity.

FinCo Fuel Group proudly introduces its newest energy carrier: Electricity

Rotterdam, 11 October 2022

Being an independent provider for sustainable energy solutions, we must quickly scale up our impact on the ongoing energy transition. Adding new energy carriers to our sustainable portfolio is important to guide our customers during their CO2-journey to decarbonisation. Via our collaboration with EQUANS, international market leader in technical services, we are now able to offer various energy solutions to our customers.

Sustainability via hydrogen

Rotterdam, 24 January 2023

FinCo is moving from fossil fuels to alternative energy carriers. And one of those new energy carriers is hydrogen. If you do not have good contacts within those sectors, you miss that moment. FinCo has those contacts; that’s why our organisation is also such a suitable partner for parties in hydrogen.

We ensure that the gap between biofuels and regular fuels gets smaller and smaller.

Finally solving the problems

Rotterdam, 13 October 2021

African Clean Energy (ACE) recently won the EY Social Impact Entrepreneur of the Year Award, an award for successful and innovative initiatives that help make the world a more beautiful and better place. It was a wonderful reward for what ACE has been doing for ten years: ensuring that the world’s poorest households have access to clean energy supplies. The family business has already sold more than 70,000 units of the ACE One: a hybrid stove that burns biomass in a clean way by means of a fan that runs on solar energy. Users no longer need to cook on an open fire, which is beneficial to both their health and air quality. And as well as cooking their food on it, they can also charge their mobile phones with it. What’s more, the ACE One ensures a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.

Rotterdam, 12 March 2021

A glance at the various election programs offers little hope for the time being when it comes to sufficiently reducing CO2-emissions. Despite all the good intentions, the climate objectives remain far out of sight. Not for nothing did European government leaders make stricter agreements at the end of last year: emissions must be reduced by 55 percent in 2030 compared to 1990. The greatest gains can be made in the mobility sector, which is the only sector in Europe where emissions have risen since that base year. Clear policies on the use of renewable fuels are crucial for this.
